Why is the home mortgage process so frustrating?

When we bought our house it was a very frustrating time. We purchased our home in 1999 and it was the first time my wife or I had gone through the mortgage process. You can add to this that my parents had never bought a home and you can tell how frustrating it turned out to be.

All went well when we finally found a lender that worked with us. We were worried about the fees they threw on, but our lender explained everything to us. The previous two lenders didn't engender any love from us as they tried to hide fees or share our personal data. It was almost worse than buying a car!

In 1999 the internet didn't have the resources it does now. One of those resources that is great for people getting a home loan mortgage is Personal Home Loan Mortgages. The site features many tools that people getting home mortgages need, but for me the winner was the forums.

The Personal Home Loan Mortgages forum does a fantastic job of helping you learn the process of getting your home loan. Questions are quickly answered and there is always a Expert Advice listing of articles.

Resources like this would have gone a long way for us when we were getting our home loan.
