Someone found this list of state tax rates on the US Census Bureau website and it's fascinating.

California takes in the most tax dollars overall followed by New York, Florida and Texas. The really interesting thing is Vermont.

Vermont takes in the 44th most in taxes, but if you flip the script they actually are number one in per capita. You would think that they'd be near the bottom like South Dakota, but they aren't.

Interesting.
