Lifetime service from Sirius? Not your lifetime ... The sirius rip off ...

Ed Foster's Gripe Line site is an excellent look at the seedy underbelly of technology customer service. His site features bizarre tales of companies that treat their customers like dirt. A gripe recently crossed his desk that is amazing. It involves the lifetime service from Sirius.

A customer of Sirius' bought the lifetime service for $500. To you, me and the guy in the corner this would mean that he could access the Sirius network for life.

Evidently Sirius doesn't think so.

They sell the service by receiver only. You can transfer the service for a fee, but come on, when you say lifetime it's lifetime.

Companies are struggling to make money with new technology, but this is the wrong way to do it. If they felt they wanted to enforce this then they should have grandfathered everyone who already paid and made the stipulation clear to new customers.
