David Strom Finally Gets RSS

I've been a huge fan and loyal reader of David Strom for many years. His career has taken many turns and he seems to hug them like a skate boarder on a pipe.

He started Network Computing magazine in 1990 among other achievements and now finds himself at Tom's Hardware as Editor in Chief.

In many ways I've modeled my career after his and it's proven to be very exciting.

David Strom has published an email newsletter called Web Informant since 1995, but he never got around to making an RSS feed for it until recently. Now that he has made the switch he's not drinking the Kool Aid, he's swimming in it.

David's latest Web Informant entry is entitled Personalizing RSS Feeds. In this piece he has he "ah, hah" moment when it comes to the power of RSS to personalize the information you need when you need it.

I've witnessed this moment in person more times than I can remember and it still makes me feel good. It's like the time you figured out how to get the sweet cereal out of the closet when you were a kid. The sense of achievement is only overshadowed by the sense of triumph!

I guess you'd call these RSS epiphanies.

The more people like David Strom who have them the quicker the industry will develop.
