Pretty good privacy as a top technology

PGP, otherwise known as pretty good privacy, comes in at number 9. I can remember when this hit the world and it was pretty inspiring. For the first time, people like you and I had a chance to make sure our electronic communications weren't read.

See, up until this point only governments had the ability to encrypt their electronic data easily. Phil Zimmerman's creation allowed anyone to do this.

It's a pretty easy to use and now you pretty much never know when you're using it. Most of the VPN solution use PGP or something similar to ensure your data is protected. Without it, anyone would be able to see your data.
