I've spent the last couple of days tweaking the heck out of Firefox. I love the browser, but came across some issues I wanted to log so more people would know about them. This is the solution to the Microsoft Intellimouse wheel button not working as designed with Firefox. The issue revolves around being able to open a link into a new tab by clicking your Microsoft Intellimouse wheel. If you download Firefox and run it with defaults the wheel click doesn't work as expected. The key to fixing this is to set your mouse properties on the wheel click to AUTO SCROLL. By default it comes set to NEXT WINDOW. By making that change to AUTO SCROLL you can then click on the link and open it in a new tab. Here's a shot of the setting:
