Getting a physical fitness workout using your Nintendo WiiSubmitted by Patrick Grote on Mon, 11/27/2006 - 5:10am.
One of the hotter Christmas gifts this year is the Nintendo Wii. Instead of relying on better graphics, faster processor or dynamic sound, the Wii actually brings a new way of interacting with video games to the table. The Wii controllers are wireless, which has happened before, but they don't of rely on pushing buttons or moving a joystick. Instead, the Wii controller allows you to move your wrist and arm to control the action. When I first learned about the Wii's new controller, I knew it was going to revolutionize the industry. Since it's limited release a week ago it has done just that. The Wall Street Journal reported that people are finding muscles they haven't used in years. For instance, Jeremy Scherer says, "I was using muscles I hadn't used in a while." You can even see the activity level in videos floating around. Check out this clip of four guys playing a doubles tennis match:
Ok, so it looks a little dorky, but if you think about it, when's the last time you moved around like that when playing a video game. I would predict by the end of the year you're going to see full blown exercise workout games. Bookmark/Search this post with: add new comment | 2037 reads
