Free CSS help

As I posted earlier, I am trying to expand my wings in the CMS world. I am typically a Drupal guy, but I wanted to try out WordPress. My post about how it went was a little early. The day after I finished creating the site I was patting myself on the back when my wife IMed me:

Why are the ads pushing everything down?

My initial thought was to tell her she was wrong, but I've found she's pretty much always right. I loaded up Firefox and took a gander. It looked fine. I replied to her and she insisted it was wrong. Jumping from my office chair, I hustled downstairs to her office and sure enough it was wrong. She was using Internet Explorer. Silly me. I didn't think to test in Firefox and Opera since 99% of the issues you see are in Internet Explorer.

Depression set in.

My CSS skills are not impressive. You can say I stand on other's shoulders when I tweak an install. Yes, I can pretty much figure things out, but if you put me in a room and said, "Code this CSS with these attributes" I'd spend my time looking for a way out.

The next four hours were spent "tweaking." Nothing worked.

Out of desperation I turned to the Web Hosting Talk forums and posted a plea for help in exchange for $20 through Paypal. Someone responded and told me he'd take a look and fix it. I set up the FTP account for him and he went to work.

The next night I was watching the Patriots, hopefully, lose to the Giants when my IM went off. It was him. He explained he fixed it, explained my issue of placing the code in the wrong container. When I asked what email address to send the money to he told me not to worry about it.

Not only had he fixed an issue that was driving me insane, but he didn't charge me.

We ended up chatting extensively in IM about our domain addictions, ideas for sites, shared affinity for Chuck TV and more.

I ended up with free CSS help at a time I really needed it. All I can say is thank you so much!
