Firefox, Firebird ... Settings Hell Boycott

So the new browser to be named later was released today.

I can't tell you how frustrating the experience has been. I am about to wash my hands of this mess.

First, the name change. How many times can we change the name of the supposed IE killer. I mean it's quaint and all, but now I have to go back to the people I have converted and explain the difference.

Second, is it too hard to have the install program migrate my settings and extensions? Since the servers are being killed the support forums are of no help and the install documentation provides no light on this at all. You know why? There is no installation documentation.

I am a fairly technical person, but if I can't figure out how to upgrade in place how are others?

There is one thing keeping me with Firebirdfoxwhatever the hell it is called. The Tabbed Browser Extensions have a command to UNDO a closed tab. If Avant Browser ever got this I'd switch.

For now, I am boycotting the Johnny Come New Name until they realize that jerking around their installed base will not succeed in the end.
