Finding an online publishing micropayment stream

As a publisher of online information, it's interesting to watch the other guys try to find new ways of moving the traditional book publishing market to the online market. In this New York Times article, author Warren Adler shows a newfound appreciation for the online publishing market.

Warren Adler is the author of many books including War of the Roses. He's decided that online publishing helps sell more real word books. He says:

The main thing is, give readers a new book for free, and they might go back and buy some of the former books. The big publishing houses just don't get it.

Sort of a try it before you buy it approach to book selling.

The internet has made the impact and now it's up to authors of information to sell it. But how you self-publish information on the internet and make money at the same time.

Some people say that micropayments are the way to do it. Others say that self-publishing houses like LuLu make more sense.

I'm not sure where I fall in the debate. I know I'll publish another book with the year and it'll be self-published, so I have a few decisions to make. Stay tuned.
