An experience with a lawyer after a car accidentSubmitted by Paid Opportunity on Wed, 12/20/2006 - 7:29pm.
Most people, when they get into a car accident, handle the details and ramifications without a Car Accident Lawyer. The accidents are simple things with one other party and can be handled by insurance companies. Then again, there are times when you need a lawyer to help you with the whole process. I've only caused one accident in my life, but it was a big one. The month was December and I was entering a highway after a light rain. The temperature was such that the rain was freezing on the pavement. As a new driver I had little experience handling the weather, so I didn't change my approach to the highway. My car started to dovetail as I accelerated onto the highway and I lost control. I careened into the highway and hit two cars, slammed into the concrete median and hit two more cars on the way out. My car busted into the earthen berm on the side of the road and it was over. Four cars, thee people injured and I knew I needed help. As the police arrived on the scene they had their own accident. One cruises ran into another. By the time it was all said and done my car was totaled. The next week was a blizzard of phone calls and paperwork, so I knew I needed help. Our family lawyer contacted a car accident lawyer and he walked me through the process. The most important part he played concerned statements I had to give to the other insurance companies. The first thing I learned was I needed to be honest. The second thing I learned was to only answer the questions asked. Through it all the lawyer reassured me and made sure my rights weren't violated. The entire process was scary, but because I had a lawyer on my side I knew the insurance companies wouldn't take advantage of me. The lawyer made sure my insurance company covered everything they committed to and didn't leave me alone with Car Accident Injury responsibility. This post sponsored by James Scott Farrin.
