President Obama went to Ohio last week to tout the recovery of the auto industry. During his appearance, he made several comments that the Washington Post took issue with. They went a step forward and said the President lied in his remarks.
I found this fascinating that there wasn’t any nuance to couch what the President did. He lied.
The facts in this case are malleable according to the White House. They responded and basically pushed off the black and white look at what the President said.
It is amazing that the press doesn’t do this more often. As the Washington Post said:
The president is straining too hard. If the auto industry bailout is really a success, there should be no need to resort to trumped-up rhetoric and phony accounting to make your case. Let the facts speak for themselves.
Wouldn’t be better if the media chose to look at things with more of a black and white view?
