The problems I have with the iphone 4

problems i have with iphone 4 photoI am a latecomer to the world of the iPhone. I don’t use a mac, never owned an ipod and my cell service comes via Verizon Wireless. So, when Verizon Wireless got the iPhone 4, we decided to take the plunge and outfit the family with them. It was an expensive proposition, but I love the iPhone.

As I tell everyone I know now, the iPhone just works. The gated app community I thought I would hate, I love. There are truly three or four apps that make my life better. With that said, there are still a number of things that irritate me about the iPhone. Coming from the blackberry world might taint my view of how things work, but I think they are valid problems.

1) Group emails. This one is the most infuriating. I pretty much use my cell phone as my camera and I like to email the family and friends with pics a few times a week. There is no simple way of creating a group to email photos to. You cannot even use the Google groups you create. I did come across a workar0und, but it is just that, a workaround. Why they didn’t include this feature I have no idea.

2) App store refunds. I know the nature of the app store is to sell apps. I get it. Still, there are times I have spent money on an app and it is just worthless. Misrepresented and sometimes doesn’t even work. You can plead your case, but it is less than a sure thing.

Survive any disaster in your own home. Prepare now. A must for the coming problems in the world!

3) Getting videos off the iphone. I take videos from time to time. With a two yeard old you’re always trying to make the magic happen on video. It reminds me of the singing frog from the cartoon when I try to get her on video doing something. Anyway, if you take too long of a video you cannot email it, which means it becomes a process pulling it off your iPhone. I found a great utility for turning your iPhone into a flash device of sorts.

iPhone 4 Made Simple

Regardless of these problems, the iPhone 4 is still the best, most complete phone I’ve ever used.
