iPhone apps I cannot live without

In the two months since I’ve gotten my iPhone, there are five applications that I cannot live without. This is a change for me since I had a Blackberry prior to this and really didn’t explore the apps.

Here are the five ranked by priority … meaning if you took number one away from me, my iPhone would be worthless.

1) Camera + – I never know how to type the name of the app, but Camera + is my number one. I used it on a daily basis and it is the default camera app on my phone. I love the auto focus, the tape and drag for lighting and the filters. What I really appreciate, though, is their continued updates and communication. If this app ceased to exist, I would trade my iPhone in.

2) Swipe Four – Games on the iPhone are ok. I don’t go for the bird games, but have enjoyed Doodle Jump. The game I couldn’t live without, though, is Swipe Four. It is a simple game, sort of like Boggle, but is devilishly tough to conquer. The iPhone screen is perfect for the 4×4 grid. I am pretty sure I know every four letter word that has an X in it now.

3) iCameraHDR – Yep, I know nothing about HDR photography, which means iCameraHDR does it for me. All I know is that the photos look darn cool. They look better than the internal HDR from the iPhone and you can do a bunch of different things with the controls iCameraHDR provides. To be honest, I bought the app only because someone online said it had a fancy doo hickey algorithm.

4) Timer + -I use this app for everything from timing the bath of my daughter to ensuring I haven’t spent too much time on a work task. The settings are dead simple and couldn’t be easier.

5) AppShopper – I know it is sort of meta to say one of my favorite apps is an app to find more apps, but it is the truth. AppShopper lets you easily see what apps are new, updated, free, paid and any number of other categories. One of the neater features is the history of the app. You can see price changes, version changes and more. There is a one click download to the device you are on whether it be an iPhone or iPad.

Those are my five must have apps!
