How to fix serious life problems 5-1

How-to-fix-serious-life-problems-1-5-photoLifehacker published a list of the top 10 most annoying problems in life. I covered 10 through 6 in the last post, so here is the final installment.

Again, I’m not an expert, but then again I’m not claiming to be one.

5) Stop a bad habit: Lifehacker talks about smoking, but that is an addiction. Most habits you pick up are due to external pressures; our habits are a way to make us feel better. Sometimes a bad habit can cause trouble in the rest of your life and need to be stopped. Do you know how to do it? Just stop doing it. Seriously. You don’t need an easy way to do it. It’s going to be hard. Damn near impossible, but if you don’t begin the process you’ll never finish.

4) Burnt out: Being burnt out means you’re tired of doing what you’re doing. It could be your job, your marriage, your bowling team, whatever. Getting burnt out can have actual physical symptoms, which are nothing to mess with. It’s funny that people get burnt out since they hold the control in their lives. While you might not think you have control, you do. If you exercise your control and change things so you won’t be burnt out, you’ll have to assume the responsibilities.

3) Hating your job: I got nothing on this one. Your job isn’t a right and it isn’t something you’re forced to do. Now, you may need that job and you may like the people you work with, but if you hate what you do or where you work, you can change. Change is hard, and it might take time, but never deceive yourself that you are stuck someplace. If you feel that way it is because you have traded the job for survival. In this case you need to find a way to work towards changing your job.

Survive any disaster in your own home. Prepare now. A must for the coming problems in the world!

2) Fat and unhealthy: Stop eating. Start exercising. Simple as that. Only 1% of people are genetically fat. The other 99% eat too much and don’t exercise enough. Believe me, I know it is hard work. I know it is lifetime work. If you really think this is a problem, then do something about it.

1) Unhappiness: Ugh. This really is the number one problem. Unhappiness can flow from any of the other 9 problems. The way I’ve handled this is to focus on what makes you happy. When I do this I find that many times the unhappiness is really caused by want or desire of something or a situation I don’t need. As humans, we tend to focus on what we don’t have versus what we have. While I know the whole gratitude thing was hot a couple of years ago, it is true. If you appreciate the people and things in your life, you’ll be much happier.
