Top level domains that are never used sex.pro

ipwalk is a newer site to me that looks at the fascinating world of domain names. If only a magical machine existed to transport folks back to 1995 to get into the domain name gold rush. Ah. Prospecting.

ipwalk has a blog entry on the other top level domains you might not know about. Sure, everyone knows about .com, .net, .org and maybe even .biz and .info, but there are a host of other ones.

They run through the list and included a couple I'd never heard of including .pro and .mobi.

The interesting thing is that .pro is supposed to be reserved for credentialed professionals. According to the article, Registry Pro handles the .pro name. Reading over the information it seems you need to be certified to get a .pro name. You can read some of the discussion about .pro names and chuckle.

I ran through some of the names and it's a joke. Look over the forums and then take a gander at where sex.pro goes.
