Hair stylists and customer service

Customer service finds itself popping up in different places, but good customer service is very rare. My wife needed to find a stylist before we have our pictures taken for Christmas cards. She couldn't get in to her normal stylist, so she decided to try a new place called Madison Avenue Salon and Boutique.

The salon sits in a condominium and apartment complex that is new to downtown Kirkwood. Looking at the development it doesn't seem to be too busy, but it's just a year old.

Anyway, the new place was phenomenal in terms of customer service. My wife mentioned the following:

1) She was greeted by name.

2) She was offered a drink.

3) During the wait for the hair stylist she was invited to browse their boutique. Since things were running late they offered a 25% discount.

4) The first time cut was discounted 20%.

5) After the stylist was finished she was offered a gift bag.

These simple things won her over and she'll probably go back. Imagine that ... good customer service in today's world.
